Links & Shiny Bits

Here are a variety of interesting links to make your experience on the interwebs that much more enjoyable.

They're that fabulous. There's the Holistic Center, which hosts all manner of holistic practitioners, events, classes and counseling. Then there's the shop, which has an enormous array of nifty stuff; rocks, crystals, books, music, candles, incense, journals, pendulums, tarot decks, oracle decks, jewelry, clothing, statues, singing bowls, and plenty of more esoteric supplies. And finally there's the cafe, which has free wireless, an amazing and relaxed atmosphere, and reasonably-priced tasty beverages (incuding the soon-to-be-famous Bottomless Coffee and Bottomless Tea — iced or hot!) It's also where I do my energy work (in the Holistic Center, that is, not the cafe :>)

The Turning Point Acupuncture — Jesseica Feltz is an absolutely amazing acupuncturist, and her approach to acupuncture as a community experience is rather nifty. She offers treatments on a sliding scale so that everyone has access to acupuncture and I have to say, her work is amazing. She's located right off the main drag in historic downtown Frederick, MD.

Althea Hughs-Wills — Althea is a professional intuitive and psychic and her readings include life purpose, angel and spirit guide messages, medical intuitive information, past lives and messages from those passed.

Body Anew Acupuncture — Justin practices acupuncture at Mystickal Voyage several days a week, and also teaches Tai Chi on weekends. He offers package deals with SERIOUS discounts. Seriously.

TUT.com — Like the site says, "Thoughts become things... choose the good ones!" This is one of those daily message/affirmation signups and it's the most enchanting I've encountered thus far so I'm sharing it with you.

Baltimore Free Store — It is exactly what is says it is. Good stuff!

The Book Thing — Get free books, get rid of books you don't need anymore — marvelous! (They do everything with volunteers and donations — if you're able, please consider donating a couple of bucks to help them keep doing the good stuff they do — thanks!)

One Prayer — An annual event in the nation's capitol, where people of diverse faiths, cultures, backgrounds and ages come together to practice peace with self, peace with others, and peace with the Earth with One Mind, One Voice, One Heart and One Prayer. The host tradition is Native American, joined by spiritual leaders and representatives from major faiths, spiritual beliefs and anyone who wants to be part of this magical, exhilarating and peaceful experience. Each year, a sacred fire burns continuously in the center of a circle of tipis, African and Christian alters, a Jewish sukkah, a Tibetan stupa and other religious traditions' symbols. There is a labyrinth, a Prayer Grove, a children's activity area and other offerings. Prayers and ceremonies are continuous for 33 hours concluding midday Sunday, October 19.

Turtle Women Rising — Drum the heart, heal the earth. You are invited to participate in this intention of promoting Peace. Come play and pray with us. Turtle Women Rising are needed in Washington DC on October 10-13 2008 in front of the White House. Bring your drums, prayers, and your songs.

Smiles and laughter do things in our brains, bodies, and energy patterns that are all kinds of wonderful. With that in mind, here are a variety of sites that should either generate smiles, the odd giggle or two, or at the very least spark a bit of interest.
